Gulf Arabic
Gulf Arabic is the dialect spoken in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and eastern Saudi Arabia. It’s a dialect that has been gaining prominence in the age of new media, due to the region’s high rate of internet penetration (the highest in the Arab world), allowing many Gulf Arabs to be content creators on Youtube and other new media platforms.
In these lessons, I speak to you in Gulf Arabic, which is my native dialect. I use a communicative approach and provide you with plenty of input catered to your level, always using engaging topics and fun activities. I create a space for you to feel comfortable speaking, and only expect you to speak as much as you’re ready for.
I spend some time teaching you how to write in Arabic. However, given that Gulf Arabic is the spoken and not written language, I spend the vast majority of the time on speaking and listening activities.
